Millions in Gaza are facing starvation. Families are displaced and children are at risk. This is what the international report issued by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) warned, stating that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic, with the threat of famine looming across the territory due to the ongoing conflict and severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid. The report noted that 96% of Gaza’s population, equating to 2.1 million people, are experiencing severe food insecurity, with most families no longer able to afford regular daily meals. This is forcing adults to cut down on their own food rations to ensure that children do not go hungry.
However, at Gazze Destek Organization, since the first hours of the war, we launched the international humanitarian campaign “Gaza .. Your Relief is their Beat“ through our teams deployed across all governorates of the sector. This is to intensify relief efforts, especially in food security projects. These projects aim to provide essential services and crucial assistance to alleviate the suffering of residents affected by the ongoing conflict for over a year.
Our food projects included:
(Distributing meals, food baskets, vegetable baskets, pastries and Eid sweets, charitable bread, distributing flour, slaughtering and distributing meat, providing water, and breakfast meals during Ramadan, and the purchase voucher project).

Relief efforts in Gaza were not easy. Despite the challenging and complex conditions we face in the sector, we have made great efforts to ensure that our aid services reach all areas, especially those experiencing the most severe crises in the north. The Israeli occupation imposed a tight siege on the entry of essential goods, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis. Residents are forced to rely on unsafe water sources and face a shortage of food supplies coupled with soaring prices.
Through the Rafah border crossing, our team in Cairo managed to prepare hundreds of trucks loaded with food kits, water containers, and sacks of flour, contributing to alleviating the suffering of our people there. Additionally, our teams in India, Pakistan, and Egypt collaborated in the slaughtering and preparation of sacrificial meat, ensuring its quality preservation in these countries and its transportation to Gaza, reaching displaced and needy individuals.
Despite all the challenges, our humanitarian efforts will continue to provide relief to the people of Gaza and alleviate their suffering with all our strength and resources.
