Since the outbreak of war in October 2023, more than 2.3 million people in the Gaza Strip have been living in catastrophic humanitarian conditions due to the systematic destruction of food, agriculture, and water sources, in addition to the prolonged closure of border crossings. Reports indicate that 75% of agricultural land has been destroyed (11,293 out of 15,053 hectares), over 96% of livestock and poultry have been lost, and food prices have increased by between 400% and 2600%. All subsidized bakeries have ceased operations due to the lack of fuel and flour. Moreover, more than 58 deaths due to famine have been recorded including 53 children. while 3,500 children are currently at risk of imminent death. The World Food Program announced on April 25, 2025, that its food stocks in Gaza had been completely depleted.
