A real catastrophe that our brothers in Turkey and Syria are experiencing as a result of the earthquake that struck the region at dawn on Monday, February 6, 2023 A.D., with a magnitude of 7.9 on the Richter scale, causing damage to hundreds of homes, as well as hospitals, schools, and mosques, and leaving hundreds of victims, amidst difficult humanitarian conditions and a wave of frost and severe cold that is striking these areas.
Damages in Turkey:
The fall of 152.000 residential buildings killed around 43.556 people and injured 115.128 others. • On southern provinces were impacted (Gaziantep, Hatay, Adana, Mersin, Diyarbakir, Şanlurfa, Osmaniye, and Antalya). Damages in Syria: • The fall of 7.000 residential buildings killed around 6.525 people and injured 13.333 others. • Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, Latakia, Tartus, Damascus, Latakia, and several other provinces were affected by the earthquake.
