PROJECT TO ESTABLISH A SHELTER CAMP FOR DISPLACED FAMILIES IN THE GAZA STRIP

The ongoing bombardment over more than a year has destroyed over 400,000 housing units, resulting in the displacement of nearly 2 million people left without shelter, living under severe humanitarian conditions lacking basic life necessities and suffering from hunger, thirst, and disease outbreaks.

In response, our team at GDD has worked to provide urgent, temporary shelter for the displaced by establishing tent cities with comprehensive services, designed with environmental sustainability in mind. Each tent city will consist of 400 tents of varying sizes, accommodating approximately 3,500 displaced individuals from Gaza. Each city will include essential services such as a water well, desalination station, private restrooms, educational and commercial tents, and a health unit. Solar energy will serve as the primary lighting source, along with administrative and security services for each city.

The tents are designed to withstand hot climates and meet global standards, featuring thermal insulation and a private bathroom for each tent. Sleeping bags, cooking supplies, food, and hygiene kits will also be distributed for each tent. Population capacity varies depending on family size, with tents available for larger families and smaller families.
