Your Sacrifice is their Eid Campaign

Your Sacrifice is their Eid Campaign

2022 – 1443 AH

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days” (Bukhari), meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

To achieve the principle of social solidarity and bring the joy of Eid to the hearts of needy children and families during the blessed Eid al-Adha, GDD has launched the annual Eid al-Adha campaign under the title “Your sacrifice is their Eid”, which aims through your donations to provide sacrificial meat and gifts (e.g., clothing, sweets, and toys for children).

Targeted locations

The campaign for this year accommodates 10 regions and countries around the world, but GDD gives a higher priority in implementing its campaigns to Palestine, namely the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, and the West Bank, in addition to areas experiencing humanitarian crises such as northern Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia and refugees in Turkey, to alleviate the suffering of refugees in those areas.

Stages of implementing the campaign and slaughtering/processing the sacrifices:

  1. The donor, who delegates our association to slaughter his sacrifice, transfers the sacrifice fee amount (e.g., calf – lamb – frozen sacrifice) via a bank account or an electronic donation.
  2. GDD then purchases the sacrificial cattle in the countries and regions in which it will be slaughtered with strict adherence to the Islamic Shariah conditions regarding the specifications of the sacrifice.
  3. The sacrificial cattle would be slaughtered per the provisions of Islamic law immediately after the Eid prayer on the morning of the first day of Eid al-Adha. The sacrifice would then be divided equally into shares and provided to those entitled to it, i.e. specified beneficiaries.
  4. After the slaughter and distribution process is completed, GDD notifies the owner about his/her sacrifice via a short message.
